What would you say if I told you everything you needed to make a Christmas arrangement could be found at your local grocery store? No, I am not crazy! It’s all there. Well almost… I plucked some berries from the yard.
I hit the floral section and grabbed some small house plants. I went with small peace lilies (some green leaf and some variegated) I bought some small poinsettias, and another green plant that it said I couldn’t kill in less then a month. Wondering about the Christmas cactus in the buggy? Stay tuned I am going to talk about that in a later post.
Next Stop was produce. I picked up several large pomegranates. One day I will learn how to cook with those! I hear they are healthy. Anyway, I love them this time of year for decor.
See, they add so much to this!
I mentioned that I went and plucked a few berries from the yard. I have holy and Nandina berries to pick from but the Nandina berries are so rich in color. I also cut some cedar while I was out there. You could use pine, magnolia, or Christmas tree clippings too.
Berries just feel festive!
I added a little whimsy to the arrangement. I collect the Mark Roberts fairies and so one landed in this. You can add ball ornaments or ribbon to give this your personal touch.
Did I mention that all this was under $25.00? I had the container and burlap. Be creative you have something you can use. I know you do! What about an old wooden coke crate? Or what about that silver punch bowl you never ever use? Line them burlap then a layer of plastic. For this I found an old tupperware bowl that fit into this container. I just covered it with burlap.
